The Franklin aPower 2 is a 15 kW whole-home battery backed by a 15-year warranty!! We’re installing a lot of Franklin Battery systems this year across the Myrtle Beach area, making it one of the region’s most trusted home battery solutions.
Locally, Santee Cooper and Horry Electric charge extremely high peak-time rates during high-demand hours from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and in the winter months from 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM. During these exact hours, Santee Cooper’s rate goes to $8 (with proposed average electric rate increases of 3.3% in 2027 and 3.1% in 2028), and Horry Electric does a massive $12. That’s a big reason for getting a battery. The Franklin aPower 2 automatically schedules to discharge during these high-demand peak hours to help reduce electricity costs.
